I want my Twenty20TV

Twenty20 TVFrom my calculations there will be 13 different types of cricket that an England player can expect to play from 2010, most of them in the same year. Not only is this tiring for the players but from a marketing perspective it's a nightmare for the consumer to understand! As for the cricket administrators and schedulers?

  • Test Cricket
  • ODIs
  • International Twenty20
  • Stanford Super Series
  • Twenty20 Cup/EPL
  • Twenty20 League
  • Twenty20 Champions League
  • ICC World Cup
  • ICC Twenty20 World Cup
  • ICC Champions Trophy
  • Domestic 50-over competition
  • County Championship
  • Stanford sponsored matches at Lords in September

(I know centrally contracted players are unlikely to play in county competitions.)

This amount of cricket can only lead to player burn-out, but at least they'll have earned enough money to retire. Something has to give.
