Taking Twenty20 Cup County Cricket Strategies to the International Stage

Middlesex CCC, winners of the English Twenty20 Trophy for 2008 have interesting strategies for Twenty20
cricket. Should some of these approaches be adopted by England and other international cricket teams ahead of next year's Twenty20 World Cup? Wearing pink is optional.
- Have two spinners who generally are less expensive than seamers (six-an-over is a good target).
- Be flexible with your batting order - use batsman who match the current bowling.
- Target the first ball of the over in the same way tennis players target the first point of a game.
- Target a par score for the ground and the first six overs of fielding restrictions.
- Mix up your attack with left-handed bowlers to change the angle.
- Maximise a bowlers variations and get them to out-think the batsman's strategy.
