Is Test Match Special Cool? No Diggity
Tuesday, September 21, 2010 : TV & Radio
As most radio listeners already have one foot in the grave, TMS are making a big effort to attract what those people who work in Advertising would call the 16-25s. Lily Allen is a big fan. Is TMS now cool? No diggity, whatever that means.
Every Test Match there is an interview with some unlikely TMS fans, ‘Scouting for Girls’ or ‘Razorlight’ and, then surprisingly, we find out that Aggers and Blowers are also big fans of theirs. While I generally find the ‘View from the Boundary’ a great addition to the TMS experience, what I hate is Aggers over-trying to empathise with the guests. This is something that the excellent, Phil Tufnell can do effortlessly in his own disarming way and that Aggers could learn from.
TMS are engaging with technology too. Now all the commentators are on Twitter, even Ask Agony Aunt Ashton. Here’s Blowers Bio: ‘this is Blowersh in the TMS box keeping it real’ . Oh for heaven’s sake!
Don't dis my homeboy, fool. 10-4, Kimosabe.
