The comparison of their ICC Test Rankings shows Ponting maintaining a steady standard whist Tendulkar is in decline as he struggles with injuries. If Ponting can stay fit for a few years yet he has a great chance of finishing with the all time highest number of Test runs, centuries and a very healthy average. Having now laid to rest the hole in his CV that was his performance in India, he is arguably 'The Second Greatest Batsman Ever', behind Bradman. All this whilst enduring the extra rigours of captaincy. Fans of the great Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara will see it differently.
