A review of Monty Panesar's Cricket Madness DVD
Thursday, August 14, 2008 : DVDs
As a presenter Monty Panesar makes a great fielder. However, don’t let this put you off because in between his awkward intros and tenuous links there are classic anecdotes from some of game’s best characters in this DVD
.
From fat bus conductors to snipers in the crowd, we are taken on a journey into the mad, bad and just plain weird incidents of cricketing history. Each item is lightly spiced with words from cricketing luminaries David 'Syd' Lawrence, Simon Hughes, Tuffers, and Ronnie Irani. It is these comments that really add value to this cricket DVD.
One person I would have had more of would be Simon Hughes. Give him a moustache and 14 pints of lager induced aggression and he could be Merv Hughes. In fact perhaps they were separated at birth.
This DVD also doubles as a keep-fit routine as long as you join in with 'doing the Irani'.
