Merv Hughes sacked as Australian Cricket SelectorFormer Test skipper, Greg Chappell has become the Simon Cowell of Australian Cricket, when last August he was appointed as the country's first full-time National Talent Manager. As well as looking for Australia's X Factor, this role means he is also a member of the National Selection Panel (NSP).

Former Australian Test Cricketer, Merv Hughes, has been a member of the NSP for the last 5 years, combining this work with being a cricket package tour group leader. However the appointment of Chappell meant one of the current Australian Cricket Selectors had to go - the Tash took the Bash.
