Kevin Pietersen needs to shine

He is England's trump card, a player who is brash and loud but equally talented, a big performance is needed from Kevin Pitersen this winter if his side are to upset the Ashes betting.
The South African born star made his test debut against the country of his birth in 2004, coping with a hostile crowd to demonstrate what they were missing and just how big an asset he could be for the England team.
He went on to be one of England's Ashes heroes in 2005, establishing himself as an aggressive batsman who could take the game away from a side with a rapid series of expansive, if a little unorthodox shots.
He remains to this day a key player in the side but a poor run of form means he goes into the forthcoming Ashes series under pressure to perform. Injuries haven't helped, he missed much of the last Ashes battle in 2009 after surgery and has struggled for fitness and form ever since, those looking to bet on the Ashes should bear this in mind.
