Queen of the Jungle Stacey Solomon has melted hearts, England opener and demi-God Alastair Cook has warmed hearts and then there’s Graham Gooch’s dog walking, ball throwing tool Sidearm.
Graham Gooch has been using the Sidearm in the nets with the England batsmen for a while now. It provides high intensity batting practice instead of unrealistic ‘throw-downs’. Gooch and Essex coach Paul Grayson say ’the most important improvement to batting practice in a generation’.
The Sidearm can create pace, provide extra bounce, swing, seam and even spin after some practice. One person can throw to another for hours on end.
Along with Andy Flower and the rest of the coaching team for England Cricket, the Sidearm is doing it’s bit to help retain the Ashes.
