Roll Up for Andy Flower's England Mystery Tour

Tuesday, September 14, 2010 : The Ashes, England, Tests

Roll Up for Andy Flowers England Mystery TourAndy Flower is organising a pre-Ashes bonding session for the England squad at the end of the season. But where? No Third Man speculates on possible destinations.

Before last summer’s Ashes series, the squad travelled to Flanders, but Ravi Bopara forgot his passport and Andrew Flintoff missed the bus. Will Ian Bell forget his hair gel and Trotty his plane spotting books this time around?

Tallin

I get the impression that Swanny, wee Timmy McBresnan and the ‘Burnley Swinger’ would go for Tallin, the stag weekend capital of Europe. Who is going to be the Bad Boy of the group now that Fred has retired? Tallin’s nightclubs would offer lots of Bad Boy opportunities plus the added bonus that it’s by the sea and there should be easy access to Pedalos.

Italy

Bologna jumpers boys. It’ll be chilly this time of year.

Ireland

Eoin Morgan would rather spend some time at home on a peat bog in Ireland with his Mum.

The Ashes squad is set to be announced around Sept 30. The batsmen pick themselves but will the England selectors choose the right Ashes backup bowlers? The first of the five Ashes Tests will be held at The Gabba in Brisbane from November 25 to 29.
