Escape To Victory

Tuesday, November 30, 2010 : The Ashes, England, Tests, Technology

Escape To VictoryJust as in the 2009 Ashes, England have escaped with an unexpected draw in the 1st Test. All the tension and extra pressure surrounding an opening Ashes Test has now gone and the England team can settle into their work.

Australia, on the other hand, are worried. If you can’t win a Test match when you take an Ashes Hat-Trick and have a triple-hundred partnership, when are you going to win one? Mitchell Johnson is on another planet and the bowlers are about as threatening as a Me To You Bear. Xavier Doherty did take 2 wickets in the match but only when Bell and Anderson were taking a high level of risk.

No Third Man can’t help thinking that if Swanny finds his recent stellar form of the last 18 months and provides a Cameo performance (a la John Wark in Escape to Victory), then the apparent balance that exists between the sides will tip England’s way.
