Domestic Cricket Fixtures 2011Update: 2010 County Champions Nottinghamshire will take on the MCC at the Zayed International Cricket Stadium from March 27 to 30, almost six months before the CB40 final on September 17.

Update: ECB Proposal for County Championship Division 1 to reduce to 8 Teams

The ECB Working Party have met to discuss the domestic cricket fixtures for 2011. It is understood that there will be no change to the hectic schedule for next season (2011). However in 2012 they are considering the following changes:

The ECB Working Party wish for the season to be reduced by playing about 10 days less cricket.

The group will recommend that quarter-finals for the Clydesdale Bank 40 (2011 Draw) be delivered from 2012 and that the competition should be played in four pools of five teams.

The group further noted that following the ICC World Cup in 2011 the format of international ODI cricket will be reviewed and recommended that the format of the CB40 should mirror the international format .

The group will meet again prior to the ECB board meeting in mid-November to consider the number of LV= County Championship and Friends Provident t20 matches to be played in future seasons.
