Will Cricket be at the Olympics in 2012?
Wednesday, August 13, 2008 : Reference
The last time cricket was at the Olympics, Great Britain beat France to take the gold medal at the 1900 summer Olympics in Paris.
Last year (2007) the International Olympic Committee gave cricket provisional status for an initial two-year period, after which sports bodies can seek full recognition and apply for inclusion in the Olympics. This could happen at the 2020 games at the earliest. This seems immensely appropriate if the format was indeed Twenty20
.
So the short answer to the question will cricket be at the Olympics
in 2012 is sadly, no.
