He's Done It! Chris Martin's First Test CenturyChris Martin, New Zealand’s fabled Number Eleven batsman has brought up his first Test Century. It has only taken him 60 Matches and 87 Innings but his telling contribution of 7 runs against Pakistan takes him to a magnificent 104 career runs in Test cricket.

Chris Martin is an a very small club of Test cricketers who have taken more wickets (193 as at 10.01.2011) than scored Test runs. With a highest score of 12 not out and a stunning average of 2.47 he has managed to score 14 boundaries in Test cricket. We suspect that all of them were squeezed down to Third Man or Fine Leg.

Chris Martin has faced a mammoth 513 balls in Test cricket and only been out 43 times. Quite remarkable when you consider Alastair Cook recently faced 596 balls in the 1st Test against Australia and was out just the once.

Not only did Chris bring up a Test milestone but his 7 runs also took him past 400 First Class runs, something that won’t be missed in his hometown of Rabbitsville, Walking Wicket County, NZ.
