Chris Martin approaching important milestone

Monday, August 30, 2010 : Tests

Chris MartinWith a convincing 5* in the last test against Australia, Kiwi No.11 Chris Martin is now just 11 runs away from an important milestone in Test cricket. After 81 innings and having faced a mammoth 459 deliveries in his career he is just two hefty blows away from his first century in Test cricket.

Chris Martin, everyone's number eleven in a team of number elevens, has however, never hit a 6 in international cricket. He has only hit 13 4's, probably all in the region of third man. His batting prowess is legendary.

I'm not sure why I'm getting excited though... on current expectations, with an average of 2.28, he will bring up his 100th run in 5 or 6 innings time, probably with an inside edge past the keeper. Start the car!
