Boycott and Hughes in for Test Match Special smackdown?

Tuesday, September 02, 2008 : TV & Radio

Test Match SpecialExpect some right royal banter between Geoffrey Boycott and Simon 'The Analyst' Hughes when the latter joins the Test Match Special team to cover England in India. I seem to remember some clashes when they were part of the Channel 4 team that covered the 2005 Ashes, with Boycs grumbling about 'military medium trundlers' and the like.

In Hughes's book 'A lot of Hard Yakka' Boycott comes in for a number of sledges, such as, dissing Geoff's commentary as part of the Sky Sports team to cover the England tour to the Windies in 1990 and comparing Geoff as the direct opposite of a party animal.

Will Boycs get his own back or has he already done that by not including Yozzer Hughes in his new book of Best XI's?

We can only hope that TMS producer Adam Mountford puts the two on together to watch the sparks fly. I can't wait.
